MARS - Part 1 of my personal project Sol-1.
A collection of renders of our celestial neighbors. All digital, all created in Maya and Rendered in Arnold. Photoshop to finish. I tried my best to mimic some of Nasa's genuine Mars photos but kept my own creative freedom as well. It's a way of satisfying my obsession with photographing the heavens.
Diffuse map was obtained from https://www.solarsystemscope.com/textures/
The Displacement map was created using DEM image data from the Mars Global Surveyor and converting that into a usable displacement map in Maya.
